GWE = Powered by Volunteers!
It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we want to recognize the incredible community that helps make Greenwood such a special place. Every day, families give time and talent to support students and teachers, often behind the scenes. This year alone:
- 21 volunteers are serving in PTA board positions
- 59 PTA committee roles are filled – volunteer leaders who power the science fair, move-a-thon, the drama program, and much more.
- 190 UNIQUE volunteers have checked in at the front office so far this school year, helping at recess and lunch, working in the STEAM lab, and in-classroom support.
- 22 volunteers are serving as Room Parents, supporting teachers and creating class community.
- 300 volunteers have completed the SPS training and background check, so they are ready to sign up to chaperone field trips, help out at events, and work in the classrooms.
These numbers demonstrate the many contributions that strengthen our school and reflect a community that is engaged, generous, and committed to creating a great learning environment for all our kids.
If you would like to support GWE as a volunteer, email us at membership@greenwoodpta.org to learn more about ways to get involved. We are especially looking to fill a few key roles for next school year: Fundraising, Volunteer Coordinator, 5th Grade Graduation & Islandwood, and Science Fair.
